Map of Medicine is driven by a team combining visionary medical entrepreneurship, in-depth clinical experience and extensive health-sector management and marketing skills.

Dr Mike Stein 

Medical Director

Mike is a member of the executive management team and provides a clinical focus for the development of the business. His chief responsibility is talking with healthcare professionals and managers about Map of Medicine and developing strategies to deliver evidence-based best practice using Map of Medicine.

Mike is a doctor, scientist (Immunology), author and business professional. He graduated from the University of Cape Town and University of Oxford (Rhodes Scholar) and co-authored ‘The Hands on Guide for Junior Doctors’ (Donald and Stein; 3rd Edition 2006). He was Medical Textbook Publisher for Blackwell Science and co-founded a leading California based e-learning company (www.medsn.com). Mike established Medic-to-Medic with University College London in 2001.

Nat Billington

Managing Director

Nat joined Map of Medicine in 2003 when he was asked to help develop it from a research prototype into a commercial product. Since September 2006 Nat has been responsible for day to day management of the team. He works across content development, product development, sales, marketing, implementation and support.

Before joining Map of Medicine, Nat’s career included founding a consultancy in 1992 which merged to become Oyster Partners Ltd in 1998. There, he was chief technology officer. Oyster was acquired by Framfab AB in May 2005 and is now part of LBI International AB.

Dr Enone Honeyman

Medical Director, Australia

Enone brings a clinical view to content and product development and supports the Implementation team. Much of her time is dedicated to engaging with frontline healthcare professionals, to ensure their views and experiences continue to shape and improve Map of Medicine.

Enone qualified as a GP in South Africa then practiced in Cape Town. She spent her first year in London in community paediatrics, an experience that sparked an interest in psychiatry. She worked as an NHS psychiatrist for almost a decade, experiencing first hand the many challenges clinicians face every day, before joining Map of Medicine.

Dr Pritpal S Tamber

Publishing Director

Pritpal is a doctor now working as a medical publisher. He is the former Editorial Director for Medicine at BioMed Central, the innovative open access publisher of peer-reviewed research, and, prior to that, was the Managing Editor of Critical Care, a well-respected journal within intensive care.

On leaving BioMed Central, he was a Senior Editor of the BMJ with responsibility for the international versions of the journal, as well as the international versions of the BMJ Group's specialist journals, including Gut, Thorax, and Evidence Based Medicine. He then ran Medicine Reports Ltd, the company that produces the ground-breaking Faculty of 1000 Medicine, an online service in which global leaders in medicine recommend important research articles from the ever-growing mass of medical literature.

Pritpal started his career as the Editor of studentBMJ, a monthly version of the BMJ aimed at medical students.

Ketan Patel

Implementation Services & Marketing Director

Ketan is responsible for the implementation team, ensuring Map of Medicine delivers on its commitments to clients and end users. Ketan focuses on ensuring that all customers get the most benefit from any Map of Medicine implementation.

Previously, Ketan worked in consultancy and product software development organisations with clients such as Cisco Systems, British Airways, Coca-Cola Enterprises and the Ministry of Defence.

Keith Kirtland

Sales Director

Keith began working in the NHS in Diagnostic Pathology Services in 1980 whilst training to gain a professional qualification of Fellow of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences in Medical Microbiology. He then joined a commercial supplier of healthcare applications (ACT Medisys Ltd) in Birmingham as a Sales Support Consultant, selling Pathology systems both within the UK and Internationally, and becoming Sales Manager three years later. The company was acquired by iSOFT plc in 2000 and over the next two years he worked as General Manager for the acquired business, and then Customer Services Director.

Keith left iSOFT in 2002 to work for the NHS Information Authority in Leeds during the negotiations for the National Programme for IT. He then joined First DataBank Europe in 2004 and stayed for four years as Sales & Marketing Director. Keith rejoined iSOFT in May 2008 as Commercial & Sales Director for the UK and Ireland selling the entire product portfolio to the NHS and Independent Sector.

Alison Hasbrig-Hartley, ACA

Finance Director

Alison is a Chartered Accountant who is responsible for all Finance/HR/IT and Contractual matters at the Map.

Alison qualified with Grant Thornton Chartered Accountants and made her move from practice to industry to work as the Financial Accountant for Eagle Star Group Services.

Alison joined Hearst Corporation in 2002 and initially worked for First DataBank Europe Ltd, another Hearst company, before joining the Map at the point of acquisition to head up the Finance function.

Alison also holds an open degree in Law subjects to compliment the ACA qualification she already has.

Kulvinder S Maingi

IT Director

Kulvinder joined the Map of Medicine in 2009. He is focused on delivering value through investment in technology and is responsible for the smooth running of the company's IT, while also setting the strategy and aligning it to that of the business. 

Kulvinder has been working in IT for over 16 years and has a successful track record of leadership in blue chip, SME and start-up businesses, having delivered a number of high profile projects and systems for companies such as IBM and Bradford & Bingley.
